The Paradise Community Concert Band was organized in the early 1980's as the Elk's Community Band. Between 2001 and 2005 the band was affiliated with Butte College as a class. In the fall of 2005 the PCCB reorganized into an independent organization affiliated with the Paradise Recreation District.
The PCCB seeks to support the musical culture of our community. We play for community, club, church, or other organizations which request a performance and as our schedule allows. We play without charge but do gratefully accept donations. The band is sponsored by the Paradise Recreation District, but its small financial support comes from individual and group donations.
The PCCB’s diverse repertoire includes marches, jazz, traditional, patriotic, classical, semi-classical, Broadway musicals, religious, dance, and popular music from many by-gone times. We prepare music for Christmas and Labor Day, as well as for our spring and fall seasons.
To request a performance, contact Bob Schofield at firstname.lastname@example.org
The PCCB also provides essential leisure time recreational activity for community musicians. PCCB membership is between 30 and 40 members. Our musicians range from amateurs to professional. We also welcome the participation of music students and those who want to continue their musical development. Whether you currently play your instrument or haven't touched yours in years, you are invited to join us.
Rehearsals are held each Monday from 3:45 to 5:15 in the Terry Ashe Park Recreation Center on Skyway in Paradise (mid August through mid May).
If you are interested in joining the PCCB, contact director Bob Schofield at email@example.com
